AI and the Future of Work: Job Transformations in the Global Landscape

The global impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on jobs is a mixed picture of gains and losses. By 2025, AI’s integration into enterprise applications is expected to surge from 10% in 2018 to 75%, indicating a growing influence on business operations. This shift is forecasted to create 133 million jobs while eliminating 75 million, resulting in a net gain of 58 million jobs worldwide.

AI primarily transforms jobs by automating routine tasks and creating new roles requiring AI skills, enhancing decision-making and customer experiences. However, there are challenges, such as potential job losses and skill shifts, with 45% of work activities currently automatable.

Additionally, 38% of AI-using companies have experienced data breaches, emphasizing the need for robust security measures. The enterprise AI market, valued at USD 16.81 billion in 2022, is projected to reach approximately USD 102.9 billion by 2030, highlighting the rapid growth and integration of AI in various industries.
